For a long time, the manuscript of Marcel Dupré's organ arrangement of Paul Dukas's The Sorcerer's Apprentice was considered lost until it was rediscovered in the estate of his student, Rolande Falcinelli. Dupré transcribed the piece in 1944, masterfully transferring the orchestral fantasy to the organ to create an effective, colourful concert piece with great dramatic pull.
