The Deux Motets (Op. 53), the last vocal works by Marcel Dupré (1886-1971), were first published in 1958 as a supplement to the liturgical music journal Bollettino Ceciliano in Rome. Out of print for many years, these two impressive compositions are now finally available again in a carefully revised new edition.
In these works, Dupré deliberately avoided elaborate embellishments and placed the music entirely at the service of the Latin text. With a view to liturgical use, he created a unique combination of simplicity and depth.
The new edition includes an informative preface and detailed work information in German, English, and French.
