From the legendary Parisian vocalise repertoire:

For his collection, Le Répertoire Moderne de Vocalises-Études, vocal professor Amédée-Louis Hettich enlisted around 150 composers, including Marcel Dupré, whom he asked for a contribution in 1928. Whereas daily practice at the Conservatoire was merely a training exercise, Hettich saw vocalises as an artistic aspiration: pieces that not only train the voice, but are also musically convincing.

Many pieces in the series have become classics, including works by composers such as Fauré, Ravel, Villa-Lobos and Messiaen. However, much of the series is now difficult to obtain. This new edition makes Dupré's beautiful vocalise accessible again for study, concerts and teaching purposes.

The new edition contains a foreword and work information in German, English and French.
