Marcel Dupré set the opening scene of Albert Samain’s drama Polyphème to music. In it, Samain depicts nymphs passing the time playfully at dusk before settling down to rest, a mood that Dupré captures with finely nuanced, light-footed music.
Originally written for a female choir (SSA) and orchestra, Tobias A. Frank arranged the orchestral part for a two-handed piano.
