Two new melodies for voice and piano, dating from 1899 and 1935:
The first, Oudlette dans les puits, is a simple strophic song telling the story of a young girl named Oudlette who lives at the bottom of a well. Jesus grants her wishes, but her craving for 'more' is never satisfied. Only when she loses everything again does she learn to find happiness through modesty, a typical moralising narrative structure of the 19th century.
The second, Mélodie pour Marcelle Perroux, is a short art song expressing appreciation for the dedicatee.
