With Juin (June), Marcel Dupré continues his series of Impressionist choral songs. Alongside La Source and Soir sur la plaine, this is another richly textured portrayal of nature. Based on a poem of the same name by Charles-Marie Leconte de Lisle, it is a hymn to the morning as it awakens and gradually fills with light, life and joy.
The original version was written for choir and orchestra, but Dupré transcribed the orchestral part into an engaging piano piece.
This first edition features a foreword and work notes in German, English and French.
